Designing custom hoodies is easy and fun and we can print almost anything onto a hoodie, but there a few thing we like our customers to know before they embark on customizing a hoodie. These tips are not meant to discourage people from creating certain designs but are to help get the best possible end result.
Hoodie Design Tip 1 – stay away from fine detail and to much color
Printing on hoodies is very different then printing on thinner t-shirts. Since the hoodie material is so thick and not as smooth as a t-shirt we encourage our customer to stay away from fine detail and lots of colors, shading and fading. Mush of this fine detail is lost in the looser fabric that hoodies are made with.
Hoodie Design Tip 2 – don’t place designs over the seams, zippers or pockets
We get this all the time. I want my hoodie to be just like the awesome hoodies at the mall. Well there is one major problem with that, the hoodies seen at retail store and made by large national brands are custom made hoodies, not custom printed hoodies. This means that these hoodies were printed as large sheets of fabric and then sewn together. This gives them the perfect transition over the seams zippers and pockets. If you really need hoodies like this we can help, but the mimimum orders are in the thousands of pieces and can take months to have made. If you really want your design to go over zippers and pockets email it to us and we will see if it is possible.
Hoodie Design Tip 3 – what factors into the cost of your custom hoodies
There are several factor that determine the cost of a customized hoodie they are :
- The style and quality of the blank hoodies before we print it – Our basic hoodie is the gildan 185. This is a standard hoodie made with 50% cotton and 50% polyester. and the weight is 7.75oz. Typically with ordering custom hoodies the higher the percentage of cotton the higher the cost. Also the heavier the fabris the higher the cost. There are other feature to the blank item that effect the price like special linings or additional pockets. Another thing to remember is zipper hoodies cost more then pullover hoodies.
- The complexity of the print is another big factor in determining the price of your custom hoodie. The more colors used in a design the higher the price will be. Additional print location cost more then a single print location. Personalized hoodies with names and numbers also bring an additional cost.
- Production time is also a factor in pricing, we offer free standard shipping which arrives in 10-12 days, Faster rush production will increase the cost of you hoodies.
- Quantity of your order is another factor in pricing. We offer custom hoodies no minimum order for a very reasonable price, but the more hoodies you order with the same design the cheaper the price per hoodie will be.
Hopefully this has helped you understand what will help your customized hoodeis turn out the best they can and also help you realize how to save some money. Now its time design custom hoodies
